Hey gents, today we’re going to be talking about Everlane. The reason I am excited about this brand is because they make some of the best basics for men out there. They have great price points and simple style, so it’s hard to go wrong with Everlane.

Everlane has been a heavily-focused women’s fashion brand, but they still offer great male clothing pieces. Their new Uniform collection makes it easy for men to get interchangeable pieces for their wardrobe.

Personally, I’ve worn many of their items for up to a year and can attest to their durability. But the new guarantee they have is a very nice touch from the company. It’s brands like Everlane that show why the fast fashion model is not something people should pursue or support.

In this collection, they offer a French Terry hoodie, a French Terry crew sweater, three types of cotton tees (a crew, v-neck, and pocket), a cotton pocket long-sleeve, a pair of boxer briefs, a performance Chino, a pair of performance jeans, a Japanese Oxford, a bomber jacket, and a denim jacket.

To ensure that the pieces were of the highest quality, Everlane tested every item in the Uniform collection to stimulate a full year of washing and wearing. That’s eight to fifteen times better than the industry standard.

The Uniform Pieces

The Everlane Uniform collection has several pieces that are worth going over. Since each article of clothing was tested in its own way, it’s worth going over just how extensive the testing was and the different styles they offer.

For their Uniform collection, there were 35 fabric trials done to find the perfect fabric for each piece of clothing. Everlane did 117 individual fittings to discover the right fit for all body types. They had 5 durability tests to check for seam strength, fabric robustness, and abrasion resistance.

There were 6 tests done to examine colorfastness, fading, and shape retention. Products also went through 50 wash cycles to ensure product longevity. However, their best selling point by far is their one-year guarantee.

The Tee

The Everlane t-shirts come in a crew neck, v-neck, or in a long-sleeve variation. They tested the tees by using 25 different wash cycles, 3 tests for fading, and 6 measurements for shrinking. The cotton they use for the tees is a durable, midweight cotton that gets softer over time.

The t-shirts go for $20 while the long-sleeves go for $22. This is a very good price, especially when you consider the quality of the clothing and the prices that other clothing stores are selling their tees at.

The Jean

The performance jeans come in three variations: slim, skinny, and athletic fit. They tested the jeans by checking 5 times for colorfastness, testing 4 times for durability, and cycling through 10 times for stretch and recovery.

For their jeans, Everlane uses 4-way stretch denim to prevent the jeans from bagging out. At the same time, this denim keeps the jeans from looking like jeggings so you’re getting a pair of jeans that feel comfortable and don’t hold you back.

Their jeans go for $68 which is around the industry standard, but at the same time, the quality they offer could easily make the jeans go for much more than their asking price.

The Oxford

The oxford shirt is available in a slim and standard fit. To make sure that the oxford shirts had the highest possible quality, they were put 50 times through the wash, tested 4 times for durability, and had 25,000 rotations on an abrasion machine.

To create a more premium oxford fabric, the mills in Nishiwaki, Japan spin heavier cotton at a slower rate which in turn, creates a more premium fabric that shows in the feel and the look of the shirt.

The oxford shirts go for $58 and have sizes ranging from XS-XXL. Like the other Everlane pieces, what you’re getting for $58 is much better than what you would be getting from other clothing retailers.

The Chino

The performance chino is available in athletic and slim fits. Everlane knows that the fabric of the chino is everything so they had 13 fabric trials, 4 tests for durability, and 10 cycles of stretch and recovery.

The pant itself is super comfortable and acts like a regular pair of chinos. However, they dry quick and repel sweat, giving them more features than most chinos you’ll find in-store.

The performance chinos are priced at $68, the same as the jeans. These chinos are a little more expensive than what you might find from other clothing stores, but they’re still worth the price tag thanks to their features.

The Hoodie

The French Terry hoodie comes in sizes XS-XXL. For testing, the hoodie was put 50 times through the wash, had 3 tests done for fading and pilling, and had 6 measurements done for shrinking.

The hoodie uses luxurious french terry cotton that is tightly spun to add durability to a soft handmade feeling that you won’t get from other brands. These hoodies are currently priced at $68.

The Sweatshirt

Lastly, let’s take a look at their sweatshirt. The sweatshirt had the same tests done to it as the hoodie: 50 times through the wash, 3 tests done for fading and pilling, and 6 measurements for shrinking.

This staple piece is also made from french terry cotton, tightly spun for durability and detail. However, the cotton softens as you wear it, allowing for an even more comfortable sweater as time goes by. The french terry crew sweatshirts go for $50 and come in sizes XS-XXL.

I’m very excited for what Everlane has to offer with this collection. The Uniform collection consists of twelve essential clothing items for every man’s wardrobe. Four of these items are completely new while the other eight have been redesigned to fit the consumer’s needs.
